My information architecture and interaction design experience grew out of an initial foundation of design, code, and audio engineering. I’ve always been a hands-on problem solver, and I love pushing new technologies to see what they can do. I continue to value the breadth of my previous experience because it makes collaborating with other creative professionals more fun and more productive.
Interaction Design
Infographics and Flows
Sometimes I create information graphics and flow diagrams to make abstract concepts more accessible.
Wireframes
I like to get into wireframes as soon as possible, because you can’t validate UI by merely talking about it. Once you start making your thinking visual, suddenly everything focuses, and forward momentum increases.

Code Projects
Hex to RGB Value Converter
I made Hextone as a simple tool to convert hex values to rgb values. I found many tools online that will do this, but they all stood to be improved upon, so I coded this up to make for a more pleasant experience.
KettleStitch Mobile Magazine Framework
KettleStitch was an open-source digital magazine JS/CSS framework for tablet browsers I made shortly after the iPad was announced. I wrote the Javascript library as a way to challenge myself to use more mature Javascript syntax.

Before shifting into information architecture and interaction design, I worked as a print and digital marketing designer and art director.
Post Production
Sound Design
I was sound designer for Hal Hartley's feature film The Girl From Monday, and Opera No. 1, featuring Adrienne Shelly and Parker Posey, which can be seen on Short Works by Hal Hartley 1994–2004.
Additionally, I did sound design for Big River, a feature film directed by Atsushi Funahashi and produced by Office Kitano.
Music
RENT
I performed as guitarist and keyboardist in the band for the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT with the National Broadway tour and on Broadway.
